Early Times Report
jammu, Apr 17: 100 percent growth in the income of Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh during the past five years has raised many eye-brows because as per salary and perks being given to a Union Minister such hike was unprecedented.
As per official record, salary and perks of a Union Minister is maximum Rs3 lakh per month which means 36 lakh per annum.
According to a report published in a national news paper, assets of two candidates from the Udhampur-Doda seat, who were ministers in the BJP-led governments at the Centre and state, have registered 100 per cent growth during the past five years.
BJP's sitting MP and Minister of State in the PMO, Jitendra Singh, who is doctor by profession, had declared his assets worth Rs 3.85 crore, which increased to Rs 7.08 crore till March 2019. After becoming minister Singh is not doing any private practice.
In the affidavit submitted by Jitendra Singh in 2014, his and his wife's movable assets were Rs 1.54 crore while the value of immovable assets, including a residential house at Trikuta Nagar and 15 kanals of agricultural land in Doda, was Rs 2.31 crore.
But in the recent affidavit submitted by him, he has declared that he has Rs 2.42 crore of movable assets while the value of immovable assets swelled to Rs 4.66 crore, which includes 1.2 hectare land purchased in the name of his spouse at Garhwal, Uttarakhand, in December 2018.
Early Times tried to reach the Dr Jitendra Singh for comments but attempts proved futile.
