| School building constructed under SSA scheme unsafe | | |  M S Nazki

MENDHAR, Apr 18: The School buildings constructed under Centrally Sponsored Scheme, Sarva Shikhsha Abiyan (SSA) in Harni zone here are said to be unsafe for all purposes. The school has many children on its roll and they have to take their classes in open sky as the building is said to be unsafe and if it rains an unofficial holiday is being declared in the school.
Several parents have alleged that sub standard material has been used in the construction of the building that is why it got damaged within one year only. They also alleged the pathetic role of the concerned zonal education officer who failed to take pains when the construction was going on.
All the school buildings constructed under SSA in the district were in similar condition they further alleged.Mendhar Youth Club Chairman, advocate Nadeem Rafiq Khan in an appeal urged the Director School Education Jammu and Chief Education Poonch to take the serious note of the matter and initiate an inquiry into the misappropation of government funds which were meant for the construction of school building under SSA Scheme in the district. |
