| JKOA discusses sports related issues | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 18: Jammu and Kashmir Olympic Association held press conference for resolving very important issues with regard to the government decisions.
As per press release the issues which were discussed including converting decade old multi-purpose Stadium to International Cricket Stadium, dilly delaying the constitution of 29 Member Sports Council consisting of Top Sportspersons, Promoters, Administrators, Media Persons and Government Officials who can deliver the goods and take important decisions for the promotion and development of Sports, Implement SRO-349 and SRO-232 according to Merit, give scholarship, State Awards and Cash Bonanza to the budding and deserving sportsman thus bringing to an end of one man show in connivance with some of the Sports Council Officials and Coaches, who are ruling the roots for pretty long time. Re-starting the conduct of Coaching Camps prior to screening the teams and participation in the National Events which have been totally neglected for the last 03 years. Recent decisions of the council to renovate the M.A Stadium and converting the same to an International Cricket Stadium and depriving thousands of the Sportspersons of various disciplines to have the privilege of Morning and Evening practice. No Government will even think of such decision as the decision is against the very spirit of sportsmanship as the efforts should be to create more and more infrastructure for Olympic, Asian, Commonwealth, Afro-Asian, South Asian Games rather than converting multipurpose Stadium to Cricket Stadium for which there is provision of enormous facilities throughout the State. |
