NC leader suddenly rushes to New Delhi
4/20/2019 11:30:43 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 20: No sooner the polling ended in the Srinagar Parliament constituency seat on April 18, a senior leader of the National Conference hurriedly left his residence in the summer capital and drove straight to the Srinagar airport.
Sources said the NC leader boarded the last flight from the airport and left straight for New Delhi.
Sources said the NC was not happy with the voter turnout on the day of polling in Srinagar and that two of the senior leaders were looking sad.
Source said the NC leader decided to leave for New Delhi after getting "unconvincing feedback from Budgam and Srinagar districts about the voter turnout."
Sources said the NC leadership was expecting a "landslide victory on the seat but that the voter turnout in favor of other parties was also found satisfactory."
Sources said though a leader ousted from the Peoples Democratic Party was openly lobbying for the NC, the party leadership was not that convinced with the overall performance of their cadres in the elections.
Sources said before leaving for the national capital, the NC leader held a closed door meeting with his close aides and told them he would be back soon but that till then they need to take care of the electioneering.
Sources said after the meeting the NC leader had a word with his father and got into a vehicle personally driving it.
"He was told to get back soon as the campaigning for the south Kashmir seat is still underway that his presence was a must for the rallies there," said a source in know of the developments.
Sources said the NC leader on reaching Delhi went to his house to spend some time there and subsequently started meetings with some of his friends.
Despite repeated attempts the NC leader couldn't be contacted for comments.
