NGO celebrates 128th birth anniversary of DR Bhim Rao Ambedkar

Jammu, Apr 21: All J&K Scheduled Castes Welfare Association (NGO) today celebrate 128th Birth Anniversary of BHARAT RATNA, BABA SAHIB, DR BHIM RAO AMBEDKAR under the presidentship of R L BHARTI, IFS (Retd) and a large number of peoples from all districts of Jammu province participated with zeal and jest.
This NGO is generally helping the down trodden peoples of the society by holding the awareness camps in villages of remote and far flung areas of Jammu region. In the awareness camps, the NGO impresses upon Education,unity, health and women empowerment, also make aware the public about the importance of financial literacy and govt benefit social security schemes. This NGO also stands by the teased peoples of the society who are at times face any type of atrocities. Dr DK Manyal, former Minister was the chief guest and the guests of honour were Mr Raj Kumar Bhagat, IAS (Retd), Shri Bodh Raj Dogra, Chief Engineer (Retd) and Gian Chand Dogra, Educationist.The floral tributes were paid to Baba Sahib by the chief guest , guests of honour, members of NGO and other persons. After welcome address by Col Som Nath Dogra (Rtd), General secretary, Key note address delivered by R L Bharti, IFS (Rtd), who highlighted the objectives and goals of the NGO. Dr DK Manyal, former minister, chief guest highlighted the life history of Baba Sahib and impressed upon to follow the teachings of Baba Sahib for upliftment of the society. Gustes of honour also spoke and stressed upon the quality education of the children.
Jagdish Bhagat, Principal (Rtd), Joint Secy, Milkhi Ram Majotra, Office Secy, Gopal Dass, AGM (RBI), Rtd Member Secy., Krishan Gopal, Dist president Rural Jammu, Capt Joginder Pal, Dist president Samba, Jai Pal, Rajesh Kumar, media secy, Sukhdev Raj, Youth President, Surjit Mangotra, Youth vice president, Som Raj Kundal, Distt Youth president Udhampur and Sh Sansar Chand Karorta, Chief Manger J&K Bank (Rtd) also spoke on role of Baba Sahib for upliftment of dalit samaj. Meritorious students of the community were given away the awards and appreciations by the chief guest and guests of honour Vote of thank was presented by Om Raj Bhall, vice president of NGO.
