Cong, BJP strive hard for migrant votes

Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 22: Tussle between Congress and BJP candidates in Anantnag constituency to seek maximum migrant votes in Anantnag Lok Sabha Constituency which is going to polls tomorrow has turned vigorous.
As per official reports there are around 39000 migrant votes in Kashmir Valley on which both Congress and BJP are making claim.
The Migrant Cell Congress as well as BJP displaced district leaders launched a vigorous campaign during last fortnight in various migrant camps as well as non migrant areas to woo the migrant areas to seek maximum votes of pandits displaced from Kashmir Valley. Both the parties which accuse each other of migrants' miserable plight hope that they will manage to get maximum migrant votes.
The Congress which takes the credit of PM employment package, construction of quarters at Jammu as well as Kashmir Valley seems to have an edge over other parties.
In comparison to that they said BJP failed to implement the package or construct more quarters in Valley or Jammu. It said the Congress has proposed a rehabilitation package of RS 20 lakh for settlement of per migrant family which also put in limbo by BJP.
On the other hand BJP said that during last five years Modi Government increased relief of migrants twice.
Maintaining that BJP is committed to honourable and dignified return of migrants to Valley, it alleged Congress along with Hurriyat other separatists, N C and PDP opposed construction of transit accommodation in Valley for migrants.
Sources said near 10,000 voters have filled M Forms for Anantnag district and there are reports if going by the same trend the 10,000 voters will likely fill up M forms in another three districts. This way migrant voters may hold key in the Constituency.
