| Mehbooba becomes Pak's cheerleader yet again | | |

Jammu, Apr 22: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti has once again shown her proximity towards Pakistan, answering on behalf of the country that is proven enemy of India's integrity and sovereignty.
On Monday, while addressing people in Noorabad as south Kashmir is going for the first phase of five-phased polls, Mehbooba answered on behalf of Pakistan, saying that the neighbouring country hasn't kept its nuclear bomb for Eid, hinting directly that Pakistan can use it against India.
The PDP president was asked by reporters to respond to the statement of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which he gave clear warning to Pakistan not to use its soil against India at any cost and that India has not kept its nuclear weapons for Diwali.
Mehbooba was supposed to support her country for the stern warning to Pakistan, but she did exactly the opposite, warning her own country while boosting the morale of Pakistan.
This is not for the first time the PDP has preferred to become Pakistan's cheerleader. On February 4 this year, the party issued a detailed statement in which it objected to Prime Minister Modi's remark on breaking the backbone of militancy. The PDP said the "muscular policy" will fail to yield any desired results. The party even equated the situation in Kashmir with Afghanistan and pitched for dialogue with militants again.
"We have to learn from what is happening around the world including Afghanistan where there is a thrust on dialogue and Pakistan has been counted as a major partner. Dialogue is the only way forward and it is only through non-confrontational approach that we will be able to give our coming generations a safer and tranquil place to live. Making peace of graveyard prevalent had never worked and will never work," the PDP had said in a statement while reacting to Modi's Srinagar speech.
It was interestingly on October 30 when Jammu and Kashmir Governor admitted the fact that when Mehbooba Mufti was the chief minister of the state, the recruitment of militants witnessed a spike and also those pelting stones too found it easier to attack the security forces.
"I have not gone to Jammu and Kashmir with the BJP's band wagon. I will work as per the constitution and as far as the previous government in the state is concerned, there must be some reason that the support from the PDP was withdrawn. And I admit the fact that while Mehbooba Mufti was the chief minister of the state, the militant recruitment got increased and stone pelters too got away easily while pelting the stones. And what we are reaping at present is what the coalition did in the state but at that time those who were in alliance partners in the government should have reacted to the mistakes being done. Today, I am not answerable to their wrongs," Governor Malik had said in an interview then. |
