Jammu, Apr 23: All Jammu and Kashmir State Pensioners Association held one day protest / Dharna on 23rd of April 2019 to protest against Government's apathy towards Pensioners problems under the presidentship of Mukund Lal Sharma. Addressing the delegates and activists of the Association Sharma strongly condemned the attitude of State towards the problems of the pensioners, He demanded that state govt should provide free insurance to all pensioners and immediate settlement of Pension review cases pending in the office of A.G. J&K to be shifted to concerned treasury offices for immediate settlement of cases as A.G. failed to settled the cases in time.
Madan Lai Abrol, Gen. Secretary Association regretted that State government failed to enhanced the Medical Allowance which pensioners have been getting for more than five years where as Medical Allowances has been provided to MLAs /MLCs/Ministers @ of Rs. 10000/ PM. He appealed to the Hon'ble Governor Sh. Satya Paul Malik to raise the Medical allowance from Rs. 300 to Rs. 30000/PM.
A resolution was passed with one voice demanding immediate solution to the employees , pensioners, which include transfer of pension review cases from A.G. to treasuries, free Health Insurance policy, enhancement of Medical allowance from Rs. 300/- to Rs. 3000/pm- and 50% rebate in bus fare. Large number of pensioners from all parts of state participated .
