GCW Parade organizes one day workshop

Jammu, Apr 23: Government College for Women Parade Ground Jammu, organized one day workshop on "Startup and Incubation" in collaboration with KPMG (A professional service company and one of the big four auditors) ,on 23rd April 2019, under the aegis of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of college, in which students and faculty from different colleges of the city participated. The aim of this workshop was to motivate and inspire the young students to become self reliant using their innovative skills. On the occasion, the Chief Guest, Secretary, Higher Education, Talat Parvez Rohella presented his reviews regarding Startups and termed it as 'need of the hour'. He spoke about the opportunities available in the National/International market and urged that the workshop be taken to a next higher level in order to get a headway to translate the brilliant ideas into Startups at micro,mini and mega levels. He also abreasted the youth with different Startup scopes of J&K in the areas of Agriculture, Sericulture, Floriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Horticulture and tourism. He said that the market is moving from mechanization to digitization, so one needs to have not only innovative ideas but also good linguistic skills as well as a stout determination. Earlier the session began with the welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Hemla Aggarwal, Principal of the College. She stressed upon the need for Startup ventures and Entrepreneurship programmes along with the regular curriculum in the educational institutions in order to strength the youth to face the economical challenges of the coming times.
