Leh DEO inspects SVEEP in Trans-Singhe-la areas

LEH, APRIL 24: In continuation with Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme, the District Election Officer (DEO)Leh Avny Lavasa today visited various villages of Trans-Singhe-la area.
Addressing the public gatherings at Fanjila, Hunufatta and Fotoksar, Avny Lavasa strongly urged the eligible persons to vote on May 6, 2019 for Lok Sabha elections.
On the occasion, the Master Trainers conducted workshops and gave live demonstrations on the operating procedure of Electronic Voting Machines and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail at these places followed by distribution of election badges to the voters.
Urging people to ensure their larger participation in Lok Sabha elections, Avny said that casting their ballot will not only help to strengthen the democratic system of the country, but also ensure overall improvement of public life.
The DEO also visited the newly opened polling station at Hipti. She took stock of the availability of Assured Minimum Facility such as road, drinking water, toilet, ramp and electricity and directed to the concerned officers to ensure the basic facility for convenience of the electorates.
Lavasa also visited Mangyu village where she urged the voters to exercise their voting franchise. She gave detailed information about the functioning of the newly introduced Voter verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT) machine which ensures a voter to verify that the vote polled by a voter goes to the correct candidate.
SDM Khaltsi, Tsering Motup, Exen. PWD Khaltsi and BDO Khaltsi were accompanying the DEO during the tour.
