Three day teacher-student training workshop concludes

Poonch, Apr 24: The ongoing three day teacher-student training workshop on popularization of science activities under ST Plan (Project) Govt. of India which was being organized by National Council for Urban and Rural Development Society (NCURDS), Jammu and Vigyan Prasar, Deptt. of Science & Technology, Noida concluded here at Govt. Boys Hr. Sec. School, Poonch today.
The proceedings of the final day of the program which concluded with a colourful valedictory function which was presided over by Azrar Hussain Shah, District Education Planning Officer, Poonch.
Azrar Hussain Shah, District Education Planning Officer, Poonch was the Chief Guest where as Sudershan Sharma, Principal, Govt. Boys Hr. Sec. School, Poonch was the Guest of Honor of the occasion.
In the three day program, more than 80 mobile school students and 30 teachers drawn from various schools of Poonch participated who were given training and firsthand knowledge regarding various scientific concepts using Nature and other household materials as the teaching tools.
Dr. Ashaq Hussain, Principal, Govt. Degree College, Chatroo, Kishtwar, Shamaile Nabi, Asstt. Prof. Galgotia College, Noida, Kuldeep Gupta, Master GGHS, Simbal Camp, Jammu were the main resource persons of the programme. In a coherent way, they discussed various activities to explore nature in and around surroundings. The activity tools like pooter, antarium, Terrarium, butterfly net, drip irrigation system etc were prepared during the camp.
Sudharshan Sharma, Principal G(B)HSS, Poonch also applauded the efforts of NCURDS for organizing such an informative workshop for the students as well as teachers of this far flung area whereas Tajinder Singh, Teacher GMS, Khanetar( Local Course Coordinator also discussed the merits of the training programme where special emphasis was laid on the Nature Walk of the students which refreshes their mind and body and have a close contact with nature's Floura and Fauna.
The program Concluded with vote of thanks by Zaffar Ullah Khan Founder secretary NCURDS, who while thanking BK Tyagi, Head Vigyan Prasar, Deptt. of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, Noida for this informative program also extended thanks to the C.E.O, Poonch & Principal, GBHSS Poonch for lending a helping hand and providing the space for organizing this programme.
