Mendhar, Apr 24: National Progressive Youth Organisation and International Human Development Forum with academic collaboration of Govt. Degree College, Mendhar organised a special talk on the theme: Peace and Harmony- Global Concern.
Speaking on the occasion Prof. Shabir Hussain Shah, Principal appealed to the students and teaching community for working together at work places so that the educational institution may be made as the hub of morality and ethics which are essential tool of developing the social and spiritual personality of an individual thereby strengthening the bond of mutual coexistence.
Vikrant Sharma, Coordinator of Peace Initiatives programme emphasizes on the 'Cosmic Peace' which is possible only through human efforts with an motive to serve the mother nature. He opined that by this concern we can also protect our environment and can laid the foundation of better tomorrow for generations.
Dr. Suresh Kumar, Assistant Director (Research), ICHR, MHRD, Govt. of India and Founder General Secretary of Sangarsh said that there is no alternative of peace and harmony and today in this turmoil and unrest situation when the divisive forces are posing threat to peaceful human existence then Peace and Harmony is the only solution which can be -achieved through societal, religious and spiritual advancement.
The need is to look into the humanitarian teachings taught by our spiritual gurus and to adopt the same in our life so that the foundation of ideal society may be laid down. Earlier, the students of the college interacted with the speakers on various issues concerning to the main theme of the talk. The proceedings of the programme were very beautifully conducted by Dr. Shafiq.
