BGSBU Rajouri celebrates 'Earth Day'

Rajouri, Apr 24: Earth Day 2019 was celebrated in School of Biosciences and Biotechnology of BGSB University Rajouri in which Faculty, Research Scholars and Students of Departments of Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology and Centre for Biodiversity Studies took part. This years' theme of Earth Day celebrations world over is "Protect Our Species" and therefore different activities based on the theme were conducted including awareness campaign about conservation of species, restoration of habitats, plantation of succulents.
Saplings were planted in the premises of newly constructed Biosciences Block, Lead Botanic Garden and around the campus of CBS. Vice Chancellor of BGSBU Prof. Javed Musarrat complimented the School of Biosciences and Biotechnology for celebrating the World Earth day and emphasized upon the fact that protection of species will be achieved through continuous and concerted efforts of each and every individual of our society. Dean School of Biosciences and Biotechnology Prof. Iqbal Parwaiz, Registrar BGSBU Dr. Ashfaq A. Zarri, Director CBS, Professor Shujauddin, Head Department of Botany Dr. Susheel Verma, Head Department of Zoology, Dr. A. A. Shah, Faculty members including Dr. Mamta Bhat, Dr. M. Asger, Dr. Arif, Dr. Mohd. Hanief, Dr. Hanan Khan, Dr. Sajad Khan. Dr. Salim Reshi and Dr. Sajad A. Parray, Research Scholars and students planted the saplings.
