Mehbooba senses defeat, blames everyone except herself
4/25/2019 11:19:59 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 25: President of Peoples Democratic Party and party's candidate for Anantnag Parliamentary constituency, Mehbooba Mufti, seems to have sensed defeat even before the polling in next two phases in Anantnag constituency could be held.
She has started creating a notion that attempts are being made to ensure that fewer people vote in elections.
An analyst said, "It seems that Mehbooba Mufti has realized that her chances of winning the Anantnag parliamentary seat are bleak. She wants to blame New Delhi for her loss."
The analyst said that after she was ousted from power, she was outraged as she had never imagined that she would be shown the door. "At that point of time, she tried to blame New Delhi for her party getting split and people walking out," he added.
The analyst said that Mehbooba needs to sit back and introspect why she and her party are on the crossroads. "She is the one, who promoted her family members and allowed them to rule the state. Her party during her tenure had turned into Family Democratic Party. Her brother Tasaduq Mufti, who didn't even know ABC of the politics, had become de-facto Chief Minister of the state," he added.
A Kashmir watcher said that in the first phase of polling in the Anantnag constituency even the diehard PDP supporters did not come out to vote as they accused Mehbooba of "ruining" the party. "People are not coming out to vote due to mistakes committed by Mehbooba as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir," he added.
The Kashmir watcher said that another factor which Mehbooba is ignoring is that during her tenure she gave a freehand to separatists, stone-pelters and terrorists. "She (Mehbooba) ignored her own party workers and went out of way to appease the Pakistan stooges and their supporters. During her tenure many hardcore Jamaat activists were provided government jobs and a few of them were even adjusted in the police force," the Kashmir watcher added.
He said that the special police officer, who decamped with seven weapons from the official residence, of the PDP legislator Ajaz Ahmed Mir, was appointed in the police force on Mir's recommendations. "The voters have lost faith on her due to the wrong decisions she took as head of the state. Had she not encouraged separatists and secessionist elements today voters would not have turned their backs towards her. She is at the verge of losing the Anantnag seat due to her own follies. Blaming anyone won't help her cause," he added.
