Jammu, May 1 :It is true that dog is man's best friend. The trained dogs in Army are called 'The silent warriors' for a reason.
They are the eyes and ears of Army units along the Line of Control.
These dogs are specially trained to do five different kinds of duties- mine detectors, explosive detectors, tracker dogs, guard dogs and assault dogs.
Many dogs have sacrificed their lives to save the lives of Army men. Strict routine is followed with balanced diet, regular medical check-up and vaccination.
During many encounters and search operations in Jammu and Kashmir, these dogs have tracked IEDs planted by terrnorists and have saved many lives. |
