| District Admin reviews annual action plan for MGNREGA convergence mode | | |

KATHUA, May 1: District Development Commissioner, Vikas Kundal today convened a meeting with District Officers of various line departments regarding formulation of Annual Action Plan for MGNREGA convergence mode.
The DDC asked the concerned officers to lay special focus on creation of sustainable rural assets and generation of maximum man days, while formulating the Annual Action Plan in convergence mode with MGNREGA for 2019-20 for which the detailed proposals must reach the Rural Development department before 10 May.
It was decided in the meeting that the Education Department will identify schools without boundary wall and playground so that these can be raised under convergence with MGNREGA. Besides, Water harvesting, rejuvenation of ponds in panchayats, embankments of Fish ponds besides developing new Fish Ponds under convergence with MGNREGA were also discussed in detail.
DDC also called for technical expertise from KVK in agriculture related projects for marginal farmers. He also asked for fifty thousand plants from Sericulture Department besides a Nursery for farmers under convergence mode.
Youth Services and Sports Department will develop playfields in Panchayats as well as in Schools under convergence with MGNREGA, DDC maintained. |
