First ever virtual class room inaugurated

Udhampur, May 1: A first of its kind, a virtual class room was today inaugurated at Government Degree College (GDC) Udhampur by Secretary to Higher Education department Talat Parvez Rohilla (KAS).
Speaking on the occasion the Chief Guest appreciated the college for initiating innovation in teaching with the digital revolution in mind.
The Chief Guest along-with the special Guest, Padam Shree S.P Verma, President Gandhian Global Family,on his arrival was received in the college with the Guard of Honour by the NCC cadets of the college.
He thence proceeded with the other guests and Principal Dr. Nutan Kumar Resutra and other members of the staff to plant a sapling in the college as a mark of Green Consciousness.
On this Occasion, the Special Guest Padamshree S.P Verma spoke and hailed the efforts of the college for coming up and standing tall as a knowledge hub and also as take holder in the process of implementation of the UN Seventeen Goals for achieving Sustainable Development around the Globe.
Many a teaching and Non-teaching staff members were felicitated on the occasion by the Chief Guest for their contribution to the college. From the teaching Dr.Udhey Bhanu, Prof. Romesh Kumar Atri, Prof. Suresh Kumar Dogra, Dr. Ved Kumar, Dr. Anil Khajuria, Prof. Kamal Kishore and Prof. G.R. Verma and from the Non-teaching Chander Mohan Sharma, Rajinder Gupta, Rajneesh Mahajan and Sanjeet Singh were honoured and presented mementos. Mohd. Saleem, the Cleaning Helper of the college was given a cash reward of Rs. five thousand for his dedication and sincerity towards his job. The proceedings of the programme were done by Dr. Rippy Bawa.
