Jammu, May 1: International Workers' Day, also known as Labour Day or May Day was observed here today.
To observe May Day, the J&K State Committee of Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) organized a massive rally comprising of different affiliated unions and associations including
Railway Loading and Unloading Workers Unions, Nirman Mazdoor Union, Coca Cola Workers Union, Chenab Valley Hydro Project Workers Union, ASHA Workers Union, Rehri - Fadi Workers Union- Jammu, Northern Zone Insurance Employees' Association, in front of Press Club of Jammu. The workers holding red flags, banners and placards in their hands were shouting slogans for the unity and integrity of the working class of the world.
While addressing the workers Om Parkash, General Secretary, J&K state CITU said the working class all over the world cannot forget the revolution, sacrifices and achievements of the heroic struggle of Chicago. He extended revolutionary greetings and solidarity to the working class and toiling masses. He called upon the working class to defeat the anti-worker and anti-people policies of Modi government. |
