5/1/2019 11:43:39 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, May 1: Governor's administration reportedly rejecting the proposal of the government employees to change the office timings in the summer season has triggered outrage in the winter capital.
According to sources the employees, who work till late hours, were keenly waiting for an order from Government regarding opening of offices in the summer zone during morning time but their request was turned down by the people at the helm.
The cross section of employees whom this reporter spoke to said that they have no objection to the decision provided the government offices are provided basic facilities to beat the scorching heat. The employees said that the government should have put all the facilities at place in all the offices in Summer Zone so that employees do not face problems on account of heat and increasing day temperature.
They said officers have all facilities and even the ACs have been installed in their offices while there are no such facilities for subordinate staff.
The employees said even in some rooms of subordinate employees in various government offices ceiling fans are not in working condition. The employees said that under these circumstances it is not possible for them to work during day time in the offices.
Moreover there are no water-coolers in many government offices. The authorities have to keep a provision on budget for the same to create the facilities in government offices.
