UDHAMPUR, May 1: A deep drain with no parapet in the ward of none else that the Mayor of Jammu Municipal Corporation, Chander Mohan Gupta has become a death trap.
Bishan Lal, an auto driver said a 15 feet deep drain makes the Rehari-AG Office road all the more dangerous as two wheelers and pedestrians are always at risk of falling in the drain.
The commuters also complained that they have to take extra care of children while moving on this road as by nature children are naughty and by mischief they may fall prey and get fall into the deep drain.
"The authorities should seriously do something in this regard and apart from parapet they should also cover the Nallah," Sarita Puri, a professor said.
Many people said that though it is a Ward of the Mayor of JMC, some improvement in the field was expected and the construction of parapet should be done on urgent basis as any mishap can happen here at anytime. |
