Retired Officers Forum discusses issues
5/3/2019 12:10:07 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, May 2: The working committee of the Retired Officer's Forum (ROF) today held a meeting and discussed their issues.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of I.D. Soni in which S.C. Rekhi, General Secretary briefed the members about the progress made on the issues already taken up.
Many of the members stressed to approach to the government on burning issues of water usage charges, revision of P.P.O's by A.G Office in light of Format-II and payment of 7th Pay Commission arrears in one go.
The State Govt. has enhanced water usage charges abnormally high which are beyond the paying capacity of many of consumers as it started from Rs. 30/annually and has enhanced to Rs. 2100 annually per connection. These charges need to be reduced to a reasonable level.
Mention needs to be made here that with the connivance of departmental officials, majority of the influential consumers have managed to get 3-4 connections and are paying only for one connection and in majority of the cases, there is 70-80% loss of water due to overflowing which goes unnoticed by the department.
Abnormal delay has been made by the A.G., J & K, Jammu regarding issuing of revised P.P.O's. It has been brought to the notice of the forum that officers/officials who submitted their forms duly completed in the A.G. office sometimes May-June last year have not received their revised P.P.O's when some of the officers/officials who submitted their forms much later have since received their revised P.P.O's.
"This needs to be looked in by the Govt", they said.
The Forum requested the government for payment of arrears of 7th Pay Commission to all the pensioners irrespective of their age limit in one go.
