Early Times Report
Bhaderwah, May 3: Sub District Hospital Bhaderwah in Doda district fails to deliver due to paucity of doctors and paramedical staff.
The hospital was established in 1955 but the is in a shambles and even the much-publicized health sector reforms programme has failed to improve matters.
Speaking to Early Times locals said that, large number of patients visit the hospital daily and leave the hospital premises disappointed as there are no doctors to take care of them. The poor have been facing serious problems for the past many years due to absence of various specialists including a gynecologist in the hospital".
We have a shortfall of about 70 % staff including a radiologist also, he demanded immediate filling of all vacant posts, Imtiyaz Butt said.
There is paucity of life saving drugs in the hospital and the people have to go to the market to purchase them.
The hospital immediately needs eye, pathology and radiology departments to provide people of Bhaderwah and adjoining villages better health care.
Women patients, especially the pregnant, suffer because of lack of female medical officer and midwives in the hospital.
