Jammu-Kathua bus operators violate DC's order with impunity
Refuse to halt outside DC office
5/3/2019 10:43:45 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, May 3: Throwing District Administration Samba's order to winds, the bus operators of Jammu-Kathua route are reluctant to halt outside Deputy Commissioner.
Sources informed Early Times that the district administration had issued an order and installed a sign board depicting the order in bold letters, urging all the buses including Rajdhani, 2X2 Superfast and 2X3 Superfast to halt outside the DC Office Complex near Chichi Mata Mandir Samba. However, the bus operators have been observing the order in breach.
Pertinently the DC office complex houses the office of the ARTO as well but no action has been taken against anybody to this day.
The Bus Operators' Union of Jammu-Kathua route have never adhered to the MVD's norms and have introduced new bus services like 2X2 and 2X3 Rahdhani which stop at Chadwal, Hiranagar, Samba and Vijayapur from Kathua to Jammu route and vice versa. Similarly, the Bus Operators of 2x2 buses had introduced 2x2 Rajdhani bus service with six stops at Chadwal, Dyala Chack, Hiranagar, Ghagwal, Samba and Vijaypur. And presently both service took six stop on Jammu-Kathua route and not stopped at outside DC Office complex Samba.
The locals have expressed surprise over blatant violation of norms by the bus operators. "Why no action is being taken against them? The DC should withdraw his order," they said.
An employee who was recently transferred at DC office Samba said, "I boarded a bus from Jammu's Kanjwani and asked the conductor to drop me outside DC Office Samba but he dropped me at main Bus stop Samba and when I resisted, he threatened to teach me a lesson.
