JAMMU, May 3: After High Court rap, the Jammu and Kashmir Health and Medical Education Department, gave charge of Principal Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar to Dr Kaiser Ahmad Kaul.
A question has arisen. Will action be taken against officials responsible for violating the seniority list ?
Here it needs to be mentioned that the High Court Jammu and Kashmir had reprimanded the Health and Medical Education Department for not replacing Dr Samia Rashid despite quashing of the cabinet order by it. On April 30, the Court also observed that it would seal the GMC office and handcuff the officials if the government failed to make the interim arrangement for the post immediately after hearing a contempt petition filed by Dr Javid Choudhary who had alleged violation of court's judgment passed in February this year.
As per the order, Dr Kaiser Ahmad Kaul, HOD Pediatrics, is hereby directed to take over the charge of Principal, Government Medical College Srinagar with immediate effect.
If sources are to be believed, violation of the seniority list, as well as norms, has become a trend where any tom and dick having vested interest is violating the norms with impunity for the last many years but shocking the higher authority turned deaf and dumb towards the serious concern.
They alleged that it seems rules and regulations are meant to be broken in the presence of higher-ups. |
