Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, May 3: The government has an ambitious, complicated plan to connect a country in which only about a fifth of the population had access to the internet before the BJP came to power in 2014. It aims for improved access to government services and encourages local digital entrepreneurship and innovation.
But there are so many Areas in Jammu and Kashmir where Mobile Connectivity is still a dream for the people.
But Over Eight thousands of Population of More than Villages Turga, Kultyar bala, Kultyar pain, Madiyal, Kultyar Kote, Panwal, Naga pani, ladanfort, Batta Bagga, delai, Magore sair, Bakrubadh, Prayee, showra in Panchari block of District Udhampur has been left behind. It has never had network coverage. Signals are poor to non-existent. Smartphones are useless.
While talking to early Times Rahul singh student from Kultyar Bala said that in the age of technology people mostly the students of the said area are facing problems to get in touch with their nears and dears.
He said at a time when the Prime Minister of India is talking of Digital India we are not part of it. He added that it's very hard to pass the emergency massages to the family members.
Another Local Rashpaul Singh we are still living in Stone Age. "It's very unfortunate that in the year 2004 Telecommunication services in Jammu and Kashmir launched but till date we didn't have the chance to use the mobile phones.
He said the dream cannot come true unless cell phones operate in far off villages.
