| Officials abuse SBA in Poonch | | Demand money for bathroom construction | | Early Times Report
Poonch, May 5: A Glaring example of bribary has come to fore in Pathanateer area of Mendhar Sub Division where Gram Rozgar Sewak and technical Assistant of MGNREGA have been demanding monetary benefits allegedly for construction of bathrooms under Swatch Bharat Abhiyan , sources informed.
They said Gram Rozgar Sewak , Niayaz Ahmed and Technical Assistant Azad Ahmed have demanded RS 2000 from each house hold for construction of bathroom which costs Rs 1200 each under Swatch Bharat Abhiyan a hundred percent centrally sponsored scheme for the people.
Locals alleged that Rural development Department has been constantly delaying the payment in favour of people of all 11 wards of Panthaneer panchayat and the guliible public is running pillar to post for the payment at BDO's office which they have spend on construction of bathrooms out of their pockets.
They further said that GRS and Technical Assistant should be shifted to some other place as they have created an atmosphere of bribery in the implementation of MGNREGA schemes. Social activists Sarwar Hasaan said that gullible people of Pathanateer panchayat have been exploited on the name of centrally sponsored schemes. He urged Director RDD to constitute an enquiry committee in this regard to know the facts about the bribery and malpractices by the officials of the MGNREGA |
