Jammu, May 4: A local court on Saturday granted interim bail to former MLA RS Pura, Dr. Gagan Bhagat who was arrested for assaulting a woman Sarpanch. Special Municipal Mobile Magistrate Jammu, Manoj Parhiar, after hearing senior advocate BS Salathia for the petitioner and the CPO, granted interim bail to Gagan Bhagat up to May 8 with direction to the police that the petitioner can be released if bail bond to the tune of Rs 30,000 was submitted. As per police, a complaint was lodged on April 27 that Bhagat along with his associates came in a village of RS Pura and on the issue of electric transformer, started abusing the complainant and her other associates. When the complainant as well as her associates were on the way to home, Bhagat along with his associates beat her up. (JNF) |
