DDC reviews progress of central power projects, directs for timely execution

Kathua, May 4: District Development Commissioner, Vikas Kundal today reviewed the implementation of several centrally sponsored schemes of Power sector including Deendayal Upadhaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY), Integrated Power Development Scheme(IPDS), SAUBHAGYA, Re-structured Accelerated Power Development Reforms Programme (R-APDRP), languishing projects and projects under PMDP.
The meeting was attended by Superintendent Engineer, EM&RE Circle Kathua, Sandeep Seth; Chief Planning Officer, Uttam Singh; Executive Engineer, EM&RE, Mohammad Shafi, Executive Engineer, STD Division III Kathua, Sanjeev Jain, AEEs and engineers of project wing Jammu.
In view of summer season and ensuing Amarnath Yatra, the concerned engineers were instructed to ensure quality power supply, quick response to the public grievances and co-ordinated approach in implementation of the schemes and working of the department.
While reviewing the progress of languishing projects, the DDC directed for submitting progress of languishing projects to District Nodal Officer twice a week, proper follow up for resolving the issues and removing bottlenecks in implementation of the projects.
He also stressed on keeping buffer stock of transformers during summer season, check on illegal power connections and revenue collection, besides effective and efficient transmission and distribution system of the department.
He directed the department to ensure publicity of public helpline number (9622142533) of the department for timely complaint redressal.
