Early Times Report
Saroor, May 5: Chenab valley has great potential for tourism. It is no less then Kashmir valley as it has shrines, religious monuments and beautiful tourist spots, like Devigol, Bangar valley, and beautiful landscape of Bimalnag which are unknown to outside world.
Bimalnag is situated atleast 40 kilometers from Batote on kishtwar highway in tehsil Drabshalla, it is located in peaceful and marvelous Saroor valley, just a few kilometers away from famous holy shrine of Sarthal Devi temple.
Bimalnag has a unique and pollution free environment and aboveboard water springs, with sweet and ice cold water, which gives a wonderful tranquility after one drinks it.
Beside this, an ancient Temple devoted to Lord Vishnu is also preset there which believed to be constructed during the time of Kurvas, the temple includes an Idol of Lord Vishnu and a sacred Pond of water which originates from a spring flowing from underneath of temple, probably this temple has been discussed by Kalhana in his Most popular historical Book Rajtringi. But due to lack of any solid evidence it is impossible to find the name of Bimalnag in Rajtringi. Beside this, according to a local myth a Shish Nag has been residing inside the holy pind since centuries.
But this place has always been neglected by Jammu and Kashmir state, It lackes proper road connectivity.
A road under PMGSY is being constructed, but is still incomplete.
Due to bad raod conditions devotees and tourists faces great trouble in, moreover there is no proper arrangement made for night stay of devotees and tourists.
