DF&SS stages protest against Mehbooba Mufti
5/5/2019 11:07:36 PM
Early times Report

Jammu, May 5: The workers of Dogra Front & Shiv Sena under the leadership of President Ashok Gupta took out a rally in Jammu city against the Mehbooba Mufti appeal for declaring ceasefire in the month of Ramzan.
While speaking on the occasion, by the end of last year Ramzan ceasefire tragic and infuriating events were witnessed in Kashmir, namely the abduction and subsequent killing of Army rifleman Aurangzeb and the cold-blooded murder of Rising Kashmir chief editor Shujaat Bukhari and two of his PSOs.
The decision of ceasefire during the holy month of Ramzan was implemented for a peaceful process to begin but it turned out to be a bad move as during the time frame of 1 month there were 65 terrorist attacks, 22 Grenade attacks, 23 times security forces were ambushed, 7 times attacks on civilians, 12 times the terrorists tried to snatch the weapon from security forces. Minister Mehbooba Mufti has requested the Government of India to announce a ceasefire for the one month of Ramadan or Ramzan 2019. In her appeal, Mehbooba Mufti also said that search operations in Jammu and Kashmir should be stopped for the holy month of Ramadan "so that people of the state have at least a month of relief". A good peace initiative that could have transformed the lives of the people and changed the landscape of Kashmir for the better was nixed by the response from the other side (militants)last year . It is unfortunate that the whole initiative was consumed by violence.
