Cleanliness drive "SWEEP under SVEEP" held at Batalik

KARGIL, May 5: As a part of continuous sanitation activities across the district under SVEEP campaign and with the participation and active guidance of Government Higher Secondary School, Silmoo, a massive cleanliness drive under the slogan "SWEEP under SVEEP" was organised in the Batalik area on Saturday.
The cleanliness campaign was supervised by the In-charge Principal Government Higher Secondary School Silmoo and Young Educator of Batalik area. Hundreds of students from Higher Secondary School Silmoo and other schools of the area including High School, Garkone, Middle School Chulichan, Middle School Gargadoh, Middle School Silmoo, Middle School Darchiks and other schools participated in the cleanliness drive. The students along with the teachers and other staff members cleared litter and garbage from the premises of the schools and surrounding areas. They also spread awareness about the importance of personal hygiene and cleanliness of the surroundings through pamphlets, charts, slogans and practical demonstrations.
It was reiterated on the occasion that cleanliness has its health benefits on the one hand and also reflects the face of a civilized society.
The speakers also urged people to give due consideration to their personal hygiene and clean surroundings as it exhibits good character and leaves positive impact in the minds of others.
Meanwhile, the villagers of different villages of Batalik area applauded this noble initiative in the form of this cleanliness drive from the schools under the leadership of DEO, Kargil. They also expressed their pledge to keep their village clean and green and to enthusiastically participate in the voting process on May 6.
