| 275 kgs poppy straw, Rs 3,2 lakh seized; 2 narco smugglers arrested | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, May 5: Border Police Kathua today seized 275 Kilogram of Poppy Straw alongwith cash of Rs 3.2 lacs while apprehending two narco smugglers. Police team of Police Station Rajbagh during checking at NHW near Police Station Rajbagh intercepted one Maruti Ecco car bearing registration number JK08F-5283 and seized 55 Kgs of Poppy Straw in illegal possession of two narco smugglers namely Mohd Tariq and Mokam Din. Police team headed by Ravinder Singh SDPO Border along with Inspector Manjeet Singh SHO PS Rajbagh Kathua alongwith Executive Magistrate after questioning and taking further lead from these two narco smugglers instantly raided in the house of one Sumit and Mukesh Kumar both sons' of Sewak Ram and seized 220 Kilograms alongwith cash of Rs 3, 22,260. Police registered two FIRs against two consecutive major recoveries and investigation set into motion. Kathua Police is striving hard to weed out drug menace and appeals people of the area to come forward and join hands with Police for the cause. |
