| Unemployed youth seek employment in hydel projects | | |

Kishtwar, May 5: The unemployed youth of district Kishtwar have expressed their concern over the large scale unemployment and demanded employment in AFCONS and Jay Pee Companies, which have been assigned the execution of Pakal dul hydroelectric project. Joginder Bhandari, a senior youth leader said that the executing agencies Viz AFCONS and JP companies have been entrusted with the responsibility to execute the Pakal Dul Hydroelectric project but it is a matter of great concern that they are not providing employment to local unemployed youths of the district in the project as a result of which brewing resentment is prevailing among the unemployed youths of the area. Bhandari said that the executing agencies of Pakal dul hydroelectric project are ignoring employment to local youth and are recruiting manpower from outside the state as well as from outside the district. He blamed AFCONS company for allegedly taking bribe from unemployed youths for their recruitment in AFCONS company, through some middle men which shall not be tolerated. He has urged upon the Civil and Police administration to keep constant vigil on such elements so that the unemployed youths may not be looted. |
