| Water crises during holy month irks masses | | |

Poonch, May 8: Although District Devel-opment Commissioner Poonch has finalized the amenities for the month of holly Ramdhan, the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department didn't follow the guidelines issues by DDC in the meeting and people from entire district are deprived of drop of drinking water in hot season.
Locals have accused the district administration especially PHE department of negligence saying majority people in remote areas are facing troubles due to lack of water".
Example of such failure of PHE department is Dhara-Fatehpur Water Supply Scheme where government has invested crores and failed to provide a single drop of water to a single family since 2014.
Locals from across the district especially from remote areas have appealed to governor Satya Pal Malik to intervene into the matter and constitute a special team to investigate the funds utilized for different Water Supply Schemes such as Dhara-Fatehpur WSS of Executive Engineer PHE Division Poonch refused comment. |
