| JU pays rich tributes to Prof SS Jamwal | | |

Jammu, May 8: The students Cultural Council of the University of Jammu in coordination with the Department of Students Welfare paid rich tribute to Prof. Shailendra Singh Jamwal who left for heavenly abode after suffering a major cardiac arrest on May 6, 2019. A large number of students, scholars, teachers, officers and officials of the University paid homage to Prof. Shailendra who was not just an academician of high repute and an administrator of distinguished mettle but also a very noble and humble human being who was kind to each and everyone around him. Prof. Manoj Dhar, Vice Chancellor University of Jammu, while paying homage to the departed soul, expressed his deep condolences terming it as an irreparable loss to the university. He spoke of his nostalgic association with Prof. Jamwal since the very inception of his sojourn in the University and remembered him as a strong pillar of the fraternity who had always contributed for the betterment of the institution in different capacities. He also spoke of his short but commendable role as the Dean Students Welfare that he said was exemplary with reference to Prof Jamwal's concern about the welfare of each and every student. The Vice-Chancellor expressed deep sympathy with the family of Prof Jamwal and prayed for grant of strength to the family for bearing this irreparable loss. |
