Terrorists forget Mehbooba's gestures, turn guns towards PDP workers
'Innocent activists feel heat as party top brass continues to encourage ultras, separatists'

Early Times Report
Jammu, May 9: Despite, president of Peoples Democratic Party, Mehbooba Mufti, acting as the spokesperson of the terrorists and separatists her party workers are facing the wrath of the ultras.
On Wednesday, terrorists walked into two local pharmacies in Zainapora area of Shopian district in south Kashmir and abducted Irfan Hameed and Muzaffar Ahmad, owners of two medical stores. After dragging them along for a few kilometers, the gunmen fired at their legs and fled away from the spot. Both of them were injured in the attack.
Sources told Early Times that both are active members of the PDP and had participated in the election campaign during the recently held Lok Sabha polls in the district. "It seems that Irfan and Muzaffar were fired upon by the terrorists to send a message to the political activists the people who were a part of the electoral process won't be spared," sources added.
It's in place to mention here that just few days before the polling day in Shopian and Pulwama districts threat posters issued by Hizbul-Mujahideen had appeared in different hamlets. "Anyone who will vote will be killed," the posters had said.
Soon after the two PDP workers were shot at, the PDP president Mehbooba Mufti took to the twitter to denounce the attack. "Condemn the dastardly act on PDP workers in Shopian. My heart goes out to these two brave hearts and I pray for their recovery…." Mehbooba wrote on the twitter.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "Terrorists targeting the PDP workers should serve as an eye opener for Mehbooba Mufti, who leaves no opportunity to describe them as 'freedom fighters' and stakeholders."
He said that attack on the PDP workers should make it clear to Mehbooba that neither separatists nor the terrorists can ever become her friends. "When Mehbooba was the Chief Minister of the state she doubled the incentive for the terrorists who would surrender. She provided amnesty to 10,000 stone pelters and even asked the security forces to catch the terrorist alive and don't kill them," the analyst added.
"Someone needs to ask what did she achieve by acting as the chief sympathizer of the terrorists and their supporters? Her actions and statements have made the PDP activists more vulnerable. Had she remained firm on nationalist agenda today entire country would have stood by her," the analyst said.
A Kashmir watcher said, "PDP and Mehbooba stand at crossroads due to her follies. No one in the country wants to repose faith in her. In fact everyone blames her for encouraging terrorists and their supporters. It's unfortunate that innocent PDP workers are paying for the mistakes committed by the party top brass."
