Early Times Report
Jammu, May 9: In a major setback to the ongoing probe into the killing of RSS leader Chanderkant Sharma and some other incidents in Kishtwar, the head of Special Investigation Team (SIT) was transferred on Thursday.
The investigation has been handed over to Dy. SP Traffic Jammu, sources told Early Times.
Sheikh, who was replaced by the SSP Kishtwar as SIT head few days ago was finally transferred vide government order No. 1797 0f 2019, dated 9-05-2019 issued by Director General of Police.
As per the order, Iftikhar Ahmed, SDPO Bhaderwah who was earlier transferred from Kishtwar few months ago has again been posted as Dy. SP DAR Kishtwar, Sunny Gupta Dy. SP Traffic Jammu has been replaced with Dy. SP HQ Kishtwar Aiyaz Ahmed Sheikh who was under transfer to ACB while Adil Hussain Dy. SP DAR Kishtwar has been transferred and posted as SDPO Bhaderwah.
In addition to the transfer of the three Dy. SP Rank officials, the services of Sajjad Ahmed Dy. SP SSG have been kept at the disposal of SSP Kishtwar for special duties till further orders.
The transfer of Dy. SP HQ Kishtwar came at the time when Kishtwar police had made credible lead into the killing of RSS leader, his PSO and weapon snatching incident beside providing a good support to NIA in its probe into the Parihar brothers killing since all the three incidents viz Parihar brothers, Weapon snatching and RSS leader killing are linked to each other and both NIA and Kishtwar Police has almost creak all the three cases, but required to collaborate the evidences to make a water tight case against the culprits involved behind these killings.
As per the details available with "Early Times" a former militant, police constable Jaffer Hussain, Surjeet Kumar and PSO of DC Kishtwar Daleep Kumar has been arrested in these cases so far while the SIT has collected some clinching evidences to nab the culprits so that the master mind behind the killing could be unmasked.
Name of some powerful cops who had provided the logistic and others support to the killers has also been established during the preliminary investigation, but the arrest has not been made so far due to some unknown reasons.
It is pertinent to mention that Dy. SP HQ Kishtwar Aiyaz Ahmed Sheikh had a marvellous track record and had solved many high profile cases like Udhampur terror attack on Army's North Command chief beside a murder case in Rajouri.
Earlier under similar circumstances, the probe into the killing of Parihar brothers was handed over to NIA within week's time of the incident and since then more than six months has been passed but the NIA is yet to achieve a breakthrough.
