Early Times Report

Doda, May 10: Sub standard material is being used in construction of Bhargran- Mangota road under PMGSY scheme.
PMGSY scheme was started to provide better road connectivity in rural areas, but the officials who are deputed on the assignment have been accused of corruption. Sources said the officials use sub-standard material in construction of roads to make quick bucks. Reports said sub-standard material was used in construction of 10 kilometer road from Bhargran-Mangota link road under PMGSY scheme.
Locals alleged that, the contractor used very poor quality material in construction the road. The Bhargran-Mangota road is the life line of thousands of people, but due to the negligence of govt officials the purpose of the scheme gets defeated.
Local sarpanch Parvez Ahmed said said that use of sub-standard material cannot be compromised..
When the sarpanch raised the issue with the PMGSY engineer, they allegedly used abusive language. Locals and Coordinator IHRO Chenab Valley said we are united here in the village to see construction of the road with standard material according to schedule and appealed to the Governor administration Satya Pal Malik, Deputy Commissioner Doda to look into the matter and visit the place personally.
