| Resentment in BJP over role of party president | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 10: With party State president showing ignorance about Leh bribery case, the J& K unit of BJP has made party MLC a scapegoat.
As a hue and cry has been created by political parties and media against the reported bribing of media in Leh by BJP leadership and opposition parties demanding high level probe into the matter the Leh administration was left with no option but to register a case against party leader.
However party State chief feigning ignorance about the issue, suggested narco test of both Press Club members and BJP leaders.
The role of BJP State president on the issue has been taken seriously by the party leadership and it has generated a lot of resentment among the State leadership.
Some party leaders are of the view that State president has played an imature role on the issue and this way made the MLC a scapegoat.
Instead of showing solidarity and countering the opposition the State president gave an issue to them against the party leader I charge of Ladakh affairs.
Sources said even the party leadership at national level was also not happy with the role of BJP State chief. Sources said a section of party national leaders have even taken the serious exception to oft repeated statements of BJP J&K chief.
These leaders have advocated replacing the State president of the party by a new leader as the role of State chief of BJP has tarnished it's image besides giving unnecessary to opposition parties.
However the party leadership which is preoccupied with elections in rest of country has kept on hold immediate change in State leadership, sources added. |
