7 grms heroin, 5 kg Poppy Straw recovered, 3 narcotic smuggler arrested

Udhampur, May 12: Udhampur police recovered 7 grms of contraband substance(chitta) and 5 kg of poppy straw) from three narcotic smugglers at Udhampur in two different cases. Giving details Rajiv Pandey, IPS SSP Udhampur based on some reliable information regarding smuggling of contraband substance heroine (chitta), Police party of PS Udhampur led by Insp. Vijay Singh Choudhary SHO PS Udhampur under the supervision of Dr. Rohit Chadgal DySP Hqrs. Udhampur and Rajinder Kumar Katoch Addl. SP Udhampur laid a naka at Jakhani, NHW, Udhampur for checking of vehicles. During naka checking, police party of PS Udhampur caught two suspected person who tried hide himself. Both the suspected persons were taken into custody and during their personnel search, 7 grms of heroine was recovered from two narcotic smugglers namely Ujwal Sharma son of Naresh Kumar resident of Housing colony and Vikram Kumar son of Surjit Kumar resident of Shiv Nagar, Udhampur were arrested on the spot and recovered heroine was seized. In this connection, a Case FIR no. 218/2019 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Udhampur and further investigation of the case is taken up.
In another case, same police party of PS Udhampur laid naka at Jakhani for checking of vehicles. During naka checking, police party caught one suspected person for checking. The said person was taken into custody and during his personnel search 5 kg of poppy straw was recovered from the accused namely Kameshwar Singh son of Jawahar Singh resident of Dandyal Udhampur was arrested on spot.
In this connection, case FIR No. 219/19 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Udhampur and further investigation is going on.
