Workshop on data analytics with Python concludes

Bhaderwah, May 13: The week long programme on "Faculty Development Programme on data analytics with Python concluded at Bhaderwah Campus here today.
The week long programme was organized by Department of Computer Science and IT , Bhaderwah Campus in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology -Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) as a part of "GoldenJublee year Celebration of University of Jammu.
The valedictory ceremony which was held at Lal Ded Auditorium was Presided over by Prof. Anil K Raina , the Rector Bhaderwah Campus and chief Patron of this workshop. Prof. Lait Sen Sharma Head of the Department Computer Sciences & IT, University of Jammu was the chief guest while as Col. DD Pandey CO 4 RR was Guest of honour.
Other dignitaries present were Dr. Srriraman Raja Gopalan as IT expert from IIT Roorkee and Dr Jatinder Manhas Head Computer Science and IT and Organizing Secretary of this workshop besides computer experts from different Universities of the state.
More than 70 participants (Academic and Research Scholars) from different Universities and the state and outside the state attended this workshop.
Speaking on the occasion , Rector Bhaderwah Campus and Patron of this workshop , Prof. Anil K. Raina congratulated the Department of Computer Science and IT , Bhaderwah Campus and E&ICT Academy of Indian Institute of Technology -Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) for organizing this workshop on the latest technology.
"With the culmination of this week long workshop, the participants may have got in-depth information about this new technology which is data analytics with Python. He futher said that both Bhaderwah Campus and IIT Roorkee are working closely to organize more such seminars /conferences which will further help the budding scientists to know more about the new technologies being adopted . " We are also working to sign an MOU with IIT Roorkee to strengthen this bond further," he added.
Prof. Lalit sen Sharma Head of the Department Computer Sciences & IT, University of Jammu spoke about the importance of such types of workshops and encouraged the department to keep organizing such types of academic activities in the times to come.
Dr. Jatinder Manhas, Head and organizing secretray of the workshop thanked all the the delegates and apprised about the complete academic activities done during the entire six days of the workshop.
Dr. Sriraman Rajagopalan IT expert form IIT Roorkee in his detailed Power Point Presentation, spoke on the technical aspect of this workshop he said that Python is a general-purpose programming language that is becoming more and more popular for doing data science."Companies worldwide are using Python to harvest insights from their data and get a competitive edge. "It is really a great experience to work with department of Computer Sciences Bhaderwah Campus and this workshop will further strengthen the relations between IIT Roorkee and Bhaderwah Campus,"
Dr. Abid Sarwar Assistant Professor conducted the proceedings and the six days event was tirelessly coordinated by the faculty members and staff of the department Bablu Sharma, Abrar Ali, Muzaffar, Shallu Kotwal, Neha Koul, Yasir Ali, Parvesh, Nisar and Binny".
The valedictory function concluded with the distribution of certificates to all the participants from different institution.
