| Girl raped in Ganderbal, accused arrested | | |
Ganderbal, May 14: Another horrific rape case was reported on Tuesday as a youth has been arrested for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district on Tuesday. Reports said the incident came to light on Tuesday after Ganderbal police arrested a youth identified as Asif Ahmad Wani son of Mohd Maqbool Wani a resident of new Colony Harran Ganderbal on Tuesday. Reports said the girl narrated her ordeal to her parents after which they lodged a complaint on Sunday against the accused at Ganderbal police station. Based on the complaint Ganderbal police arrested the accused and registered a case under FIR number 98/2019 under RPC 376, 451 and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO). Police officials said that the accused has been arrested and an investigation is going on.
