DC Jammu reviews progress on BBBP, OSC, 181-WHL

Jammu, May 14: Deputy Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar convened a meeting of district officers to review the working and progress on implementation of Beti Bachao Beti Padao (BBBP), One Stop Centre (OSC) and 181- Women Help Line (WHL) here today.
The DC, while taking a detailed review of these schemes envisaging social economic empowerment of women folk especially those belonging to under privileged segments of the society, exhorted upon all the officers and stake holders to put in collective efforts for successful implementation of these women oriented programmes. DC asked the officers to concentrate on health, sports activities, medical assistance and other multi sectoral items being provided to girls under BBBP.
While reviewing the working of OSC and 181-WHL, DC said that the key job of OSC and WHL is to provide all kind of support system to the deprived women and emergency response besides rescue service including shelter, medical and legal assistance, counselling and awareness. He directed the district officers of concerned departments to appoint nodal officers for better functioning of OSC and WHL.
Discussing on the working of Mahila Shakti Kendra, the DC asked the officers to constitute a District Level and Block Level Committee which will be responsible for overall review and monitoring of the scheme and facilities being provided to the women.
Project Officer ICDS Natasha Kalsotra, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Danish Khan, Chief Education Officer Satpal Sharma, Chief Planning Officer Yoginder Singh Katoch, District Panchayat Officer Sunaina Saini, District Social Welfare Officer Ajay Salaan and senior officers of the concerned departments were present in the meeting.
