JAMMU, May 15: An army jawan on Wednesday suffered injuries when he was inadvertently stepped over a landmine, which suddenly exploded near the Line of Control (LoC) in Mendhar sector of Poonch district.
Official sources said that the soldier namely Sepoy Shivling Appa of 12 Madras Regiment was on routine patrol duty in forward area of Dehari Dabasi in Mendhar sector when he accidentally stepped on a mine. They added that the soldier sustained serious injuries in his legs due to explosion.
He was evacuated to a nearby health centre from where he was later shifted to command hospital in Udhampur. |
