CHC Gandoh faces shortage of doctors, patients at receiving end

Gandoh, May 19: Sub-division Gandoh hospital has been facing acute shortage of doctors including Staff, paramedics. In CHC Gandoh out of 19 sanctioned posts of MBBS doctors at present there are only three doctors who have to cope the increasing rush of the patients from different areas of Sub-division Gandoh. Meanwhile, the locals of the area while showing resentment over non-availability of Surgeon spl and physician spl, child spl, in the hospital said that they have to face immense hardships in absence of the doctors and appealed to higher authority to intervene and direct posting of doctors. Shabir Ahmed, a resident of Gandoh, told Media person, "We are thankful to the state government for constructing a new building for the hospital, but without adequate manpower it is all of no use." Yasain Malik, a senior citizen of Gandoh said all these posts are sanctioned for the Hospital but the authorities have failed to fill up them till date with the result the Hospital is running with shortage of doctors and staff.
He warned agitation in case further delaying tactics are made in filling up the vacant posts and added that hospital staff has to face the wrath of people whenever any death takes place due to lack of proper medicare. When contacted Incharge BMO Gandoh Dr Rajesh Kumar agreed that hospital lacks staff and said that he had already informed higher authorities to fill sanction post for the Hospital. We are hopeful that steps will be taken to solve the problem soon."
