Eradication of drug menace from the root level is our prime goal: Mankotia

UDHAMPUR, May 19: Expressing deep concern over the increasing of drugs on such fast rate, Former MLA & NPP President Balwant Singh Mankotia organised 4th marathon run against drug abuse which commenced from Modi Ground at around 6:30 am and concludes at Dogra Guest house Rathian. Marathon was organised by NGO Dogra Kranti Dal in which about 300 youth participated. Mankotia while addressing youth expressed his anxiety over the spread of "Chitta" named drug at such a fast rate during the past three years due to which many of the youth have lost their lives during the previous days. Mankotia said that it is the conspiration of neighbourhood country to make our youth concave by making them drug addict. Mankotia appealed all the political and non political parties to come along to make our city drug free.
Mankotia demanded for the strict action against drug peddlers. He said that such type of awareness by organising such activities should be done periodically which is the only route for drawing youth away from drugs. "Only motive behind to organise such activities is to channelise the energy of our youngsters into positive direction " he added. Mankotia informed that during the previous days he has made door to door awareness compaign against drugs and also made huge rallies to eradicate such a menace and to take stern action against drug peddlers. Mankotia while showing his concern over the drug abuse said that eradication of Drug abuse is our prime goal. Later Mankotia also felicitates first three winners with cash prize in which First Rank Sachin with Rs. 5100, Second Akshay Sharma with ? 3100 & Third Om Veer with 2100.
