AAP expresses concern over non functional of Anganwaris
5/20/2019 12:27:18 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, May 19: Aam Aadmi Party In-charge District Doda, Mehraj Malik visited various Anganwadi centres and found them non-functional. He said that the Anganwadi project started twenty years back to focus on pre Nursery education on the same pattern as private crèche centers opened, where government supplies quality nutritional food to children below three years and many more advantages in guidelines of the said project.
But after a passage of long time these Anganwadi centres become the hub of corruption, only to collect quality food from Anganwadi stores and sell it in the market. Moreover 99% AWC remain closed whole year & the employees are seen once in a month outside the Anganwadi store for collection. Mehraj Malik said that there is no policy frame work or proper job profile for these centres. These Anganwadi centres controlled by CDPO at Tehsil level & Programme Officer (KAS) at District Level & dozen of highly qualified & high salaried staff engaged for proper functioning of these centres. But it's matter of concern that not a single officer of said department is working honestly. No one is concerned about the loss due to improper utilization of Anganwadi workers services. Malik appeals to the worthy Director & DC concerned to call high level meeting and kindly utilize the services of Anganwadi workers and helpers in Primary Schools of the state in order to overcome the deficiency of teaching & non-teaching staff & shift all enrolled beneficiaries to these Primary schools.
