SRCC holds English language skill workshop

Jammu, May 19: As part of series of workshops for Civil Services aspirants, a workshop on English language skills organised at SR College of Competitions (SRCC), here today. The leading institute for Civil Services and other competitive examinations, SRCC invited Dr Gopal Parthasarthi for an interactive session on various English language skills. During interaction with the students, the guest faculty discussed various aspects of language and stressed the need for a holistic approach to improve language skills. The session included detailed deliberations on reading, writing, listening and spoken skills. The expert faculty asked the students to master the language skills for enhancing their chances to crack the Civil Services. He opined that the students from Jammu and Kashmir have great scope in Civil Services provided they hone their language skills further. The guest faculty stressed the importance of English language skills by informing the students that this will help them in reading comprehensive English qualifying paper, Essay paper, attempting answers in General Studies and Optional as also during the interviews too. He said that better language will help the aspirants in having better social interactions and to improve their confidence levels. Students showed overwhelming response to the session and asked the management to organise more such workshops. The management of SRCC realising the importance of such sessions has assured the students of more similar sessions to help them prepare better for Civil Services and other similar competitive examinations.
