43 bovines rescued

Rajouri, May 20: Police foiled several bovine smuggling bids and rescued 43 bovines from the clutches of smugglers.
A team of Jammu and Kashmir police from Rajouri police station headed by SHO Rajouri Ajaz Haider was on a routine night patrolling in Rajouri town when four vehicles were found moving rashly towards Darhali bridge side which were chased upon.
However, near Darhal bridge, all the four vehicles were found parked short of a police naka and the drivers had managed to flee from the spot but police personal managed to nab one of the driver who was trying to escape to a nearby nallah.
Th four vehicles which have been seized on the spot which include JK11B 4694, JK11B 4669, JK12 9366 and fourth one with temporary number 1626 and all the vehicles were found loaded with bovine animals. 28 number of animals have been rescued from the four vehicles while the driver of one of the vehicle arrested from the spot has been identified as Rahit Iqbal son of Abdul Majid resident of Khablan.
Two separate cases in FIR 286/2019 and 287/2019 under sections 188/295-A RPC, 3 PCA Act have been registered in police station Rajouri.
Similarly police team from Kandi police station headed by SHO Kandi Mustaj Ahmed was on patrolling on Mandir Gala - Sakri road when two vehicles JK 11A 2947 and JK02AK 6181 were found parked on roadside with bovines loaded in the same.
Both the vehicles were seized on the spot and fifteen animals rescued from them. Drivers of both the vehicles probably fled leaving behind vehicles after noticing movement of police vehicle.
Case FIR 45/2019 and FIR 46/2019 under sections 188/295A RPC and 3 PC Act has been registerd at police station Kandi.
