Exit polls hinting Modi's return unnerve NC, PDP

Early Times Report
Jammu, May 20: Even as the one-time allies of Bharatiya Janta Party, the National Conference and the Peoples Democratic Alliance, had trained guns on the BJP for the last few years, the Exit Polls hinting at return of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has seemingly unnerved the two regional parties in Jammu and Kashmir.
From NC President Omar Abdullah to his PDP counterpart, Mehbooba Mufti, both of them look unnerved that Modi was likely to retain through National Democratic Alliance or NDA.
Both the leaders have been making their reactions visible on the social media.
Omar Abdullah is making multiple reactions on Twitter.
"Every single exit poll can't be wrong! Time to switch off the TV, log out of social media & wait to see if the world is still spinning on its axis on the 23rd," he posted.
In another Tweet, he said: "If your exit poll doesn't have a (helicopter) flying around the studio you've already lost the battle for the viewers attention."
One of his close aides and Political Secretary Tanvir Sadiq seems to be accepted Modi's return and is now talking about the next Parliament elections. In a tweet, Tanvir was seen talking about 2024 elections. "Can we have the opinion poll for 2024," he tweeted.
Mehbooba Mufti found the new anchors overexcited. "Most news anchors can't hide their glee about exit poll results like kids left unattended in a candy store! Teray Aanay say Yun Khush Hai dil , Jaisay Ki Bulbul Bahar Ki Khatir," posted Mehbooba Mufti on Twitter.
For the last few moths, both Omar and Mehbooba had been firing salvos on Modi hoping that there would be change of guard after the elections.
The NC had almost settled for the pact with the Congress. But the exit poll results seem to have dashed their plans.
